ASU honors Coach Hollins
Arizona State University honored Grizzlies Head Coach Lionel Hollins by raising the former Sun Devil great’s No. 33 jersey to the rafters at Wells Fargo Arena at its Feb. 17 game against Washington.
A charter member of Arizona State’s Hall of Fame and a 2006 inductee into the Pac-10 Hall of Honor, Hollins donned the Maroon and Gold for two seasons (1973-75), earning All-American honors, before returning to ASU for two more years as an assistant coach (1985-86, 1987-88).
Hollins was paid tribute alongside fellow NBA coach and Sun Devil legend Byron Scott, currently the head coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
