Sao Paulo, Brazil, July 31, 2007 - Before assuming the roles of camp coaches for Basketball Without Borders Americas 2007, which officially starts today at Esporte Clube Pinheiros in Sao Paulo, Brazil, participating NBA players shot exclusive interviews with NBA TV on the rooftop of one of the city's hot spots, Hotel Unique.

Brazil's own Anderson Varejao also made a splash arrival in his hometown with a live debut interview on MTV Brasil's Rock n Gol. Traditionally a soccer show, Varejao was the first basketball player to ever be featured on the program. Ratings were so high, one of the highest in the program's history, the network re-aired the one hour show the following day, the first time the show has ever re-aired, and will re-air Varejao's appearance on Wednesday, August 1.

Marcus Vinicius also showcased his talent on MTV's Expressa, a series of segments that air during all of MTV's programming and focuses on important social causes. Players and coaches were also interviewed for one of Brazil's most important networks, Globo/SporTV.

Throughout the day, the 50 campers (ages 19 & under) from more than 17 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean, were greeted by camp directors, participated in an orientation and introduction session to the camp, and played important scrimmages to determine their team selections. The scrimmages were followed by the BWB Americas official Draft, which placed campers into one of six teams: Cavaliers, Lakers, Nuggets, 76ers, Spurs and Suns.
