Originally an early entry candidate for the 2004 NBA Draft before withdrawing his name from consideration. Signed with Benetton Treviso in the summer of 2003, after growing up in the Slovenian League. Played there through January 2005, when he was loaned to Snaidero Udine.
Career Highlights: Named the 2002 Slovenian League Rookie of the Year. Played in the 2003 Slovenian All-Star Game. Has been member of the Slovenian Cadets National Team. Played at the 2002 European Under-20 Championship. Played at the 2000 European Junior Championship. Has been member of the Slovenian Under-20 National Team. Played at the 1999 European Cadets Championship. Has been a member of the Slovenian Junior National Team.
2004-05: Averaged 2.8 points and 2.7 rebounds in 8.7 minutes for Benetton in Italian SerieA and 3.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in 9.9 minutes in the Euroleague. In January 2005, loaned to Snaidero Udine, posting 7.8 points and 5.6 rebounds in 20.1 minutes in Serie A.
2003-04: Appeared in 30 games during the regular season for Benetton, averaging 3.3 points. In Euroleague action, averaged 4.6 points and 2.2 rebounds in 15 contests.
2002-03: Averaged 17.3 points and 6.4 rebounds for KD Slovan. Also took part in the 2003 FIBA Champions Cup, averaging 16.6 points and 4.4 rebounds.
2001-02: Appeared in 15 games with KD Slovan in the Adriatic League, averaging 8.9 points and 3.2 rebounds. Appeared in six games in the Korac Cup, averaging 10.8 points and 5.2 rebounds.
Strengths: Scouting reports indicate he rebounds well and is a good shotblocker with nice post moves and good agility. Penetrates off the dribble with quick spin moves.
Personal: Good friends with fellow draft prospect Erazem Lorbek. Nickname is “Sloki.” Lists Kevin Garnett, Toni Kukoc and Pau Gasol as his favorite NBA players.
