An early entry candidate for the 2003 NBA Draft. Originally a candidate for the 2002 NBA Draft, but withdrew from consideration.

Career Notes: One of the top prospects in Europe, he began playing for Ulker of Istanbul at the top level in Turkey when he was 15 years old in 1999. Left his native Georgia in 1998 to come to Turkey and pursue basketball career. Has progressed every season and has the back-to-the-basket low-post skills of a power forward. Helped Ulker to 2001 and 2002 Turkish Presidentís Cup. Also helped Ulker to the 2001 Turkish National Championship. He has been a member of the Georgian Junior National Team and a member of the Georgian Cadets National Team.

(2002-03): In the season he turned 19 years old, saw his playing time go up. Playing about 16 minutes per game, averaged 9.5 points and 5.5 rebounds. Was averaging about six minutes per game in Euroleague play when he got the starting call against Greek power Panathinaikos. In 36 minutes, he produced 26 points (on 10-for-13 shooting) and eight rebounds to lead the team to victory. The next game out he played all 40 minutes and contributed 13 points and 17 rebounds vs. Skipper Bologna.

(2001-02): Saw first significant playing time for Ulker in 2001-02 season. Averaged 5.8 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 55 percent from the field. In Euroleague play, averaged 3.2 points and 1.8 rebounds in more limited playing time. Posted season-high 19 points and eight rebounds vs. Turk Telecom in only 23 minutes. Tallied 16 points and 11 rebounds against Kolejliler. Had 14 points and six rebounds in only 20 minutes vs. Besiktas.

Strengths: Scouting reports praise his strength and willingness to exhibit physical play near the basket. Reports also say he runs the court well and is a good passer. Was a dominant player at the junior levels but until recently has been used as a role player with Ulker due to his youth.
