High School Career Highlights: Named to PARADE All-America High School Boys Basketball Second Team. Named to USA Today High School Boys Basketball All-USA Third Team. Named a 2003 McDonald’s High School All-America player and played in the McDonald’s High School All-American Game and the EA Sports Roundball Classic. Named All-State his final three high school seasons in Mississippi. Originally committed to Mississippi State.

2003 Postseason All-Star Games: In the McDonald’s High School All-American Game, scored 10 points on 5-for-7 shooting and grabbed three rebounds in 15 minutes of play to help the East to a 122-107 victory. In the EA Sports Roundball Classic, posted 13 points, six rebounds and three steals as his East team dropped a 120-119 decision.

Senior (2002-03): Helped Starkville to a 28-3 record and a berth in the 5A State championship game, which the team lost to Vicksburg 61-54 in overtime. He produced 19 points, 13 rebounds and four blocked shots in the championship game. For the season, averaged 22 points, 12 rebounds and six assists per game.

Strengths: An extraordinary leaper, he is an active player who hustles to make plays on both ends of the court. He is best known for coming out of nowhere to block shots using his outstanding speed and athleticism.
