Charlotte Bobcats Team Overview

2010-11 record: 34-48

Fourth place, Southeast Division

Did not make the playoffs

Round: 1

Round: 2

#39 : Jeremy Tyler

Areas of Strength:
The Bobcats are a solid defensive team, although that's also due in part to their desire to slow the pace. Tyrus Thomas gives them a shot blocking presence and Stephen Jackson brings fiery leadership.

Needs Work:
The team can't score. Jackson is a decent go-to guy but once Gerald Wallace was traded to Portland, no one compensated for his points. And because Jackson is more of a slasher, there's a crying need for a shooter with range.

Two Stats That Matter:
41.4 percent --
Combined shooting percentage of Jackson and D.J. Augustin, the Bobcats' leading scorers.

6.8 -- Kwame Brown was a minor surprise as a rebounder (that's his rebounds per game) but he's a free agent and the Bobcats have no board-crasher under contract.

The Way To Go:
The Bobcats need a star, in a very bad way, to fill the seats and also the scoreboard. Too bad Adam Morrison, who led the country in scoring at Gonzaga and was the Bobcats' top pick (No. 3 overall) in 2006, didn't work out. Either a shooter or a functional big man would help the club return to the postseason.
