Summer League Recap Clippers vs. Grizzlies

by Clippers Digital

The Clippers fell to the Memphis Grizzlies, 87-75, during Summer League play Sunday night at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

After a slow first quarter that saw the Clippers fall behind 19-8, a second quarter surge brought them to within one at halftime. The Grizzlies took control of the game in the third quarter and never relinquished the lead. Points in the paint proved crucial for the Grizzlies, who enjoyed a 14-point edge inside to seal the deal.

Mfiondu Kabengele led all scorers for the second straight game, finishing with 19 points while shooting 50 percent from the field. He continued to show his versatility as a big, shooting three of four from three-point range. Terance Mann grabbed 14 rebounds and had six points. Jerome Robinson added 15 points and Amir Coffey reached double figures with 10.

The Grizzlies were led by Brandon Clarke and Grayson Allen—each with 17 points. Yuta Watanabe contributed 12 points and seven rebounds while Dusty Hannahs added 13 points and three rebounds.

Next up for the Clippers is a matchup against the Washington Wizards Tuesday, July 9, at 8:30 p.m. PT at Thomas & Mack Center. The game will air on NBATV.
