Top Five Plays Of The Week: 03/28-04/03
LOS ANGELES – Just about everyone on the Clippers got involved with some type of standout play last week in three wins and another near-victory while playing shorthanded in Oklahoma City.
Here are the top five plays of the week from games against the Celtics, Timberwolves, Thunder and Wizards, which saw the return of Blake Griffin to the lineup.
5) Backup boost
C.J. Wilcox, Pablo Prigioni got out on the break, as the backups gave the full-strength Thunder all they could handle on a night the Clippers played without Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan and J.J. Redick (rest) and got 32 points apiece from Jamal Crawford and Austin Rivers.
4) Up and over
Bradley Beal thought he might get a hand on it. Markieff Morris thought he might get a hand on it. Instead, Paul’s pass soared just over the reach of both players and into the hands of DeAndre Jordan for the alley-oop.
3) Just a hand
Most players can’t do with two hands what Jordan did with one on this late lob from Crawford for two crucial last-minute points against the Wizards.
2) Paul dagger
The Clippers led by three points with three seconds on the shot clock and 26.5 seconds on the game clock when Crawford inbounded the ball to Paul, who ball-faked John Wall, dribbled to his right and delivered the dagger.
1) Blake’s back
Griffin’s return to the lineup after a 45-game absence was the news of the week, and he wasted no time delivering his first points of the day in style.
