L.A. Clippers Sign Guard Rodney McGruder

The L.A. Clippers have signed free agent guard Rodney McGruder, it was announced today by President of Basketball Operations, Lawrence Frank. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.

McGruder, 27, was claimed off waivers by L.A. on April 9. He appeared in 66 games for the Miami Heat during the 2018-19 season, averaging 7.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 23.5 minutes. The 6’4”, 200-pound guard holds career averages of 6.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists IN 162 appearances across three NBA seasons with Miami. Prior to his time with the Heat, McGruder played two seasons in the G League WITH the Maine Red Claws and the Sioux Falls Skyforce. A native of Landover, Maryland, he holds collegiate career averages of 11.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists IN 135 appearances across four collegiate seasons at Kansas State University.
