In Dialogue: Social Smithsonian Objects And Social Justice – Race And Medicine

Each month, educators from the National Portrait Gallery will partner with colleagues across the Smithsonian to discuss how historical objects from their collections speak to today’s social justice issues. For this program, NMAAHC Public Programs Department Academic and Social Justice Lead Leslie P. Walker will have a discussion with NPG colleague Beth Evans about race and medicine.

African Americans In STEM Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon

Join the National Museum of African American History and Culture and BlackComputerHER.org as we work with the African Americans in STEM Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon. Participants will create and edit Wikipedia pages for African American STEM professionals highlighting the impacts on their communities, nation, and the world. The creation and editing of Wikipedia pages will benefit K-12 students and teachers by sharing the narratives of African American STEM professionals, both the past and present. Register and join!
