LOS ANGELES  – The LA Clippers and Aspiration have announced a multi-year partnership that designates the world's leader in sustainability as a service solution for consumers and companies as the first Founding Partner of the Intuit Dome, the future home of the Clippers. The Clippers are aggressively working toward initiatives that will earn Intuit Dome a LEED Platinum certification, the highest classification available. Intuit Dome will operate 100% carbon-free from day one, and be the only sports arena in the world built with 100% embodied carbon concrete. Intuit Dome will be naturally ventilated, fully electric through batteries and solar power with enough on-site energy storage to power a basketball game or concert, and have no net new greenhouse gas emissions. It will feature a comprehensive waste reduction program to eradicate landfill waste onsite and extensive programs to improve regional air quality. Intuit Dome has committed to the annual monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions and transportation impacts, a first for a large-scale venue, which will ensure sustainability goals and promises are met, and also provide the data to help drive broader community transformation to a low carbon future.

LA Clippers and Aspiration Set a New Standard for Social Responsibility in Sports

The LA Clippers announced that the team has acquired Rajon Rondo from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Lou Williams, two second-round draft picks (Portland 2023, LAC 2027) and cash considerations.

“Lou is arguably the greatest sixth man to ever play the game, and he represented much more than that as a Clipper,” said Lawrence Frank, President of Basketball Operations. “He is a leader and a connector, earning the highest level of respect from teammates and opponents alike. He lifted all of us. We will miss Lou and his family dearly.”

Williams is a three-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year (2014-15, 2017-18, and 2018-19) and the NBA’s all-time leading reserve scorer. Drafted directly out of high school by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 45th overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft, Williams has played with Philadelphia, Atlanta, Toronto, the Lakers, Houston, and the Clippers in 1,043 regular-season games. Williams has scored 15,000 points in his career (12,813 as a reserve) and holds averages of 14.4 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.3 rebounds in 24.7 minutes.

“We could not be more excited to welcome Rajon to the Clippers,” said Frank. “He is a proven winner, a relentless competitor, and one of the most skilled orchestrators of his era. We believe he will elevate our group and continue to propel us forward.”

Rondo is a two-time NBA champion, four-time All-Star, and two-time NBA All-Defensive First Team member. He has played with Boston, Dallas, Sacramento, Chicago, New Orleans, the Lakers, and Atlanta. In 900 regular-season games (731 starts), he’s averaged 10.0 points, 8.1 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.6 steals in 30.6 minutes. He has also led the league in assists three times and steals once. Among active players, Rondo ranks fourth in assists (7,310 at 15th overall in NBA history) and sixth in steals (1,470).

Before joining the Clippers, I was Director of Sales Planning for Worldwide TV and Digital Distribution at Lionsgate.

When did you realize you wanted to work in sports?

I got the itch to work in sports (specifically basketball) several years back when I was working at Ticketmaster and we had several teams as clients. I had played basketball growing up and in school, but before Ticketmaster, I just didn’t connect the dots that I could have a career in sports that didn’t involve being a professional player/coach. It took a while, but I was fortunate that eventually a position opened up with this hometown team that was a great fit.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

Working with so many people who also love sports and who have great enthusiasm to perform at the highest level in whatever they do.

What advice do you have for women trying to break into the sports industry?

Networking and preparation are key to breaking into any industry. Take advantage of various outlets to connect with sports professionals, such as WISE (Women in Sports and Events). And by preparation, I mean having a clear understanding of the role you want to fill, what skills are needed, and actively developing those skill sets to ensure you’re a top candidate when the opportunity arises.

If you could have dinner with any woman in the world, who would it be and why?

So many ways to answer this question… I would likely enjoy having dinner with someone who has a passion for food and could share their knowledge about the food we’re eating, so perhaps Chef Anita Lo.

The L.A. Clippers have signed free agent guard Reggie Jackson, it was announced today by President of Basketball Operations, Lawrence Frank. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.

“Reggie is a proven playmaker and scorer, and we are looking forward to adding his experience and creativity to our team,” said Frank.

Jackson, 29, appeared in 14 games for the Detroit Pistons this season, averaging 14.9 points, 5.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 27.2 minutes. The 6’3”, 208-pound guard holds career averages of 12.9 points, 4.4 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 544 appearances across eight NBA seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Pistons. Before being selected by Oklahoma City with the 24th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, Jackson played three collegiate seasons at Boston College, where as a junior he was named first-team All-ACC.

L.A. Clippers Sign Guard Reggie Jackson

The L.A. Clippers have acquired a future second-round draft pick and cash considerations from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for guard Derrick Walton Jr., it was announced today by President of Basketball Operations Lawrence Frank.

Walton Jr., 24, appeared in 23 games in his lone season with the Clippers, averaging 2.2 points and 1.0 assists in 9.7 minutes. The 6’0”, 185-pound point guard has played in 39 career games, holding career averages of 2.0 points and 1.0 assists in 9.5 minutes in two NBA seasons with L.A. and the Miami Heat. Prior to his NBA career, Walton Jr. played four years for the University of Michigan Wolverines, earning 2013-14 Big Ten All-Freshman honors and the 2017 Big Ten Tournament MVP.
