#SunLifeDunk4Diabetes Celebrates 10 Years

November is Diabetes Awareness Month. Once again, the Celtics and Sun Life have teamed up to support diabetes prevention through the #SunLifeDunk4Diabetes campaign. This year, we are celebrating our 10th season of this campaign in partnership with the YMCA of Greater Boston. Since the campaign’s inception, we have raised over $825,000 for the YMCA of Greater Boston’s diabetes education programming.

Help us reach our $1M Goal!

In celebration of our 10th Anniversary of #SunLifeDunk4Diabetes, we are setting a lofty goal this season to raise $175,000 for the YMCA of Greater Boston’s Healthy Habits Program, which would bring us to $1M raised since the program’s inception. Sun Life will donate $1,000 to the YMCA of Greater Boston’s Healthy Habits Program for each dunk made by a Celtics player in November. You can help raise money too! Check out the Celtics Instagram stories each week and vote for your favorite dunk. Each vote will raise additional dollars for the Y’s program.

Healthy Habits is a 10-week program, held at the YMCA or virtually, that offers expert coaching and group support to help participants learn the 5 key health habits to achieve a healthy weight, prevent or manage Diabetes and live their healthiest lifestyle. Healthy Habits is team-taught by a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Personal Trainer, and offers an innovative, science-based lifestyle-change program for those who are at risk for Diabetes, as well as those who currently have Diabetes. Best of all – the Healthy Habits program is offered at no charge thanks to the generous funding support from Sun Life and the Boston Celtics!
