BOSTON, MA – The Boston Celtics announced today that they have signed free agent forwards Micah Downs and Rob Kurz. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Downs, a 6’8 forward, played last season for Assignia of the Spanish ACB league averaging 11.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting 55% from the floor on two-point shots and 35.3% from three-point territory.
Kurz, a 6’9 forward, played last season for CB Murcia in Spain and SLUC Nancy in France. Kurz has previously played in the NBA with the Golden State Warriors during the 2008-09 season where he appeared in 40 games as a rookie. He recorded a career-high of 21 points against Utah on April 11, 2009 when he shot 8-for-14 from the floor and 4-for-7 from three-point territory.
