BOSTON (December 12, 2005) - Members of the Boston Celtics spread holiday cheer this afternoon, attending a party at Dick's Last Resort for patients from Boston Medical Center's Pediatric Hematology Program.
The party was attended by Celtics Captain Paul Pierce and teammates Ricky Davis, Marcus Banks, Dan Dickau, Ryan Gomes, Gerald Green, Raef LaFrentz and Brian Scalabrine; along with Boston Celtics Managing Partner and Governor Wyc Grousbeck and Celtics Women's Group members Patsy Brewer, Nicole Liberati, Liz Pressey and Vanessa Rameriz.
"Every holiday season we look forward to spending time with these special children," Pierce said. "It's rewarding for us to be able to brighten the day for these kids who cannot spend the holidays at home with their families." As an organization, the Celtics are committed to improving the lives of their young fans by providing enriching experiences such as these special holiday events.
At the party, patients were treated to face painting, games, sing-a-longs and story telling. Joining the players at the event was special guest Santa Claus, who helped pass out presents on behalf of the Boston Celtics and Hasboro Games.
"We look forward to seeing these kids every year, and exchanging warm holiday wishes with them," said Wyc Grousbeck, Boston Celtics Managing Partner and Governor. "They remind us how important it is to think of others and to make efforts to brighten their lives."
