Max Velez

4-year-old Max Velez is proof that you are never too young to save a life.

The Nashua, New Hampshire native and his grandmother were spending the afternoon together, when Max witnessed his grandmother suffer a medical emergency and stop breathing. Keeping his cool under pressure, Max called 9-1-1 and was able to successfully describe his grandmother’s symptoms to the medical professionals. Staying on the line until the paramedic’s arrived, Max lead the EMT’s to his grandmother, allowing her to make a full recovery!

For his quick-thinking actions and lifesaving bravery, please join us in honoring Max Velez as a Hero Among Us!

Joe Arsenault and Nick Claudel

Military veterans and Belgrade, Maine natives Joe Arsenault and Nick Claudel are always ready to respond to the call of duty.

While working a shift at the post office, Nick and Joe witnessed an oil truck collide with an SUV and burst into flames. Responding to the accident, the men raced to the oil truck where they discovered the driver trapped inside.  With no regard for their own safety the men climbed into the fiery oil truck and pulled the driver out through the shattered windshield, saving his life.
