Taste of Black Cleveland:

The Food Showcase 5.0

The Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland NAACP, Black CoLabs, and Aramark, in partnership with Hennessy, are proud to present A Taste of Black Cleveland: The Food Showcase 5.0 on ThursdayAugust 10 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. The tasting portion will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where guests can sample signature dishes from 20 Black owned establishments. The night will continue with the “After Taste” and will feature seven Black owned pastry and dessert businesses.

The event shines a spotlight on the diverse culture, cuisine, and live entertainment in local Black communities. Chefs will prepare their signature dishes for guests to sample and vote on to award winning participants a grand prize. Local Black mixologists will provide drink samples and will compete for the People’s Choice Drink of the Night presented by Hennessey. New this year, the event will incorporate five local Black owned wine companies and will feature their product at the event. Glasses of wine will be redeemable with a drink ticket. All proceeds from the Taste of Black Cleveland will benefit the participating businesses, Cleveland NAACP, and the Cavaliers Community Foundation HBCU Scholarship Program.

Tickets for the tasting experience are $100 and include two drink tickets, and food and drink tastings from over 20 local Black Chefs and wine companies. The ticket also grants one vote in the contest for top participants along with entrance to the “After Taste” celebration that will feature seven Black owned pastry and dessert businesses. Extended & VIP experiences that including: tickets to LL Cool J's 'The F.O.R.C.E Live Concert Tour', Cavs game tickets, admission to the "After Taste" and more are also available!

    The Cleveland Cavaliers 11th annual Black Heritage Celebration (BHC) will tip off on Martin Luther King Jr. Day— Monday, January 19th at the Cavs vs. Chicago Bulls game at Quicken Loans Arena at 7:30 p.m. To begin the celebration themed “Making a Difference. One Generation to the Next," the team will remember Dr. King, the pastor, activist and humanitarian who led the African American civil rights movement.

    On Monday, January 20th, the Cleveland Cavaliers will tip off the team’s annual Black Heritage Celebration (BHC) presented by State Farm on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day at the Cavs vs. Dallas Mavericks game at 1:00 p.m. The special afternoon matchup will be the first of four theme nights throughout the month-long celebration. In addition to featuring in-game black history moments and achievement highlights, Cavs players and staff will volunteer in several educational and community service events throughout February in honor of Black History Month.
