CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Cavaliers will open the 2014-15 campaign presented by Discount Drug Mart on Thursday, Oct. 30 against the New York Knicks at Quicken Loans Arena in a nationally televised game on TNT. It marks the sixth consecutive year the Cavs will kick off the season at The Q where they will play 16 weekend home dates comprised of five Friday games, four Saturday games and seven Sunday games. The Cavaliers are slated to appear on at least 29 national television broadcasts, 14 of which will originate from downtown Cleveland at The Q, including:

In addition, the Cavaliers will have 11 games aired nationally on ESPN Radio (Oct. 30 vs. New York, Dec. 25 at Miami, Jan. 19 vs. Chicago, Jan. 25 vs. Oklahoma City, Feb. 5 vs. L.A. Clippers, Feb. 8 vs. L.A. Lakers, Feb. 12 at Chicago, Feb. 22 at New York, Feb. 26 vs. Golden State, April 2 vs. Miami and April 5 vs. Chicago).
For the 11th time in franchise history, the Cavaliers will play on Christmas Day as they go on the road to square off against the defending Eastern Conference champion Miami Heat. The Cavs will face the Milwaukee Bucks on New Year’s Eve and on Monday, Jan. 19, the Chicago Bulls will visit The Q for a special MLK Day game. Cleveland will also compete on Easter Sunday (April 5) when they host the Chicago Bulls at The Q. The regular season will conclude at The Q on Wednesday, April 15 when the Washington Wizards come to town.
The defending NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs will make their lone appearance at Quickens Loans Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 19. Other marquee opponents coming to Cleveland only once this season include the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, Jan. 7; the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday, Jan. 25; the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday, Jan. 28; the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday, Feb. 5; and the Golden State Warriors on Thursday, Feb. 26.
This season’s 82-game schedule again consists of 41 home and 41 road games. Each Eastern Conference opponent will match up against Cleveland four times with the exception of Charlotte (two home, one road), New York (one home, two road), Orlando (one home, two road) and Philadelphia (two home, one road). Each Western Conference opponent will play the Cavaliers twice, once at The Q and once on the road.
