Dante Exum was born in Melboure, Australia on July 13, 1995. His father, Cecil, was a member of the UNC basketball team that won the 1982 NCAA Championship and was teammates with Michael Jordan and James Worthy.

Exum stands at 6-6 and weighs in at 190 pounds. He was the fifth overall selection in the 2014 NBA Draft out of the Australian Institute of Sport.

Exum averaged nearly five points per game in his rookie season, shooting 34.9 percent from the floor and shooting 31.4 percent from behind the arc. He played in all 82 games his first season.

He was a member of the 2015 Rising Stars Game at All-Star Weekend in Brooklyn. He played with Rudy Gobert (former teammate on the Jazz) and Matthew Dellavedova (current teammate with the Cavs) on Team World.

In 2017, Exum was again a member of the Rising Stars Game at All-Star Weekend in New Orleans, were he was a member of the World Team. That was considered his second season because of an injury that kept him out of the 2015-16 campaign.

In 2012, Exum played for Australia’s FIBA Under-17 Team. Here, he was named to the All-Tournament Team. He also played for the Under-19 Team in 2013 where he, again, was named to the All-Tournament Team. 2013 was the first time Exum was called up to the Australian National Team.

At 15 years old, Exum became the youngest player to ever be named to the Australian national team.

He was a member of the Utah Jazz teams that went to the playoffs in both 2017 and 2018. He played in 17 playoffs games in his career.

On December 29, 2018, Exum recorded a career-high 13 assists in a 129-97 win over the New York Knicks. On March 11, 2017, he scored a career-high 22 points in a 112-104 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

He is a quick guard, who can play both guard positions and can finish well at the rim. One of his strongest abilities is his passing skills and the willingness he has shown to pass the ball and make the right play.
