Cleveland Cavaliers: Collin Sexton has ‘no worries’ about 3-point shot despite December struggles
Author: Chris Fedor

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio -- After being criticized for his shaky outside shot coming into the NBA, Collin Sexton proved doubters wrong in his debut season, setting a rookie franchise mark for 3-pointers while hitting 40.2% from deep -- the second-best mark among first-year players who attempted enough to qualify. Some of those stats even put him in a rookie category alongside snipers Stephen Curry and Larry Bird.
But Sexton’s outside shooting numbers have dropped significantly this season. Those whispers that followed him into the league have popped back up, with some -- including a couple in the organization -- wondering if 2018 was actually the anomaly as opposed to foreshadowing future success.
“I’m not concerned about nothing,” Sexton said. “I know what I can do. No worries.”

Cleveland Cavaliers’ late-game struggles continue in controversial 109-106 loss to Charlotte Hornets

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- New year, same late-game problems.
For the second time in two weeks, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Charlotte Hornets went down the wire. A thrilling finish again, only this time the outcome was flipped. Charlotte capped a fourth-quarter comeback with a 109-106 win on Thursday night, ending its six-game losing skid that began with a loss against the Cavs on Dec. 18.
“Very disappointing, that one,” Cavs head coach John Beilein said. “I would say I think we had it, we played well enough at times. I told the team when we look back at it, there’s going to be segments all throughout the game where we didn’t play very good defense, they got layups or they got dunks, they got something, or an open 3. That came back to haunt us.”
