To salute the brave men and women who serve our nation in the Armed Forces, the Cavaliers played their Annual Wine & Gold Scrimmage in front of current military members and their families on Saturday at Baldwin Wallace University’s newly renovated Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium.

The split squad scrimmage broke down as such:

Team Gold** - (Starters) Jarrett Jack, C.J. Miles, Earl Clark*, Anthony Bennett, Tyler Zeller (BENCH) Carrick Felix, Michael Lee, Matthew Dellavedova, DeSagana Diop, Jermaine Taylor

*Alonzo Gee and Earl Clark swapped squads at halftime.

Forward Earl Clark got Team Gold off to a fast start, throwing down a dunk on a breakaway and knocking down an 18-foot jumper as Team Gold took a 12-11 lead after the first 10 minutes of play.

The second quarter belonged to Team Wine. Rookie Kenny Kadji provided a spark off the Wine bench, bucketing a quick six points while controlling the paint with a blocked shot and three rebounds. The half concluded as Kyrie Irving netted a deep triple at the buzzer to give Team Wine a 40-24 advantage at the break.

After being outscored 29-12 in the second quarter, Team Gold trimmed the Wine lead to seven when Jarrett Jack fed a pretty alley-oop to Tyler Zeller on a fastbreak.

Shortly after - in the interest of safety due to a slick floor - the scrimmage was called midway through the third quarter with Team Wine holding a 46-38 advantage.

Irving led all scorers with 17 points on 10-of-16 shooting (4-of-6 3FG) from the field while Zeller chipped in 13 points to lead Team Gold.
