What is your dancing background and experience? I started training when I was 7 years old, at Theater Street Dance Academy in Columbus, OH. I also attended a performing arts middle and high school, where I studied genres that weren’t taught at my studio. After graduating from high school, I majored in dance at Ohio State.
Why did you decide to audition for the Cavalier Girls? A girl from my hometown had made the Cavalier Girls dance team my senior year of college, and that’s what pushed me to do it once I graduated. I’d never danced for a sports team, so I thought it would be a different yet amazing experience for me. In Columbus, we don’t have an NBA or NFL team, so seeing someone from my hometown dance for a team of the Cleveland Cavaliers caliber truly inspired me.
If you can say anything to Cavalier fans, what would you say? I would tell the fans to keep being the best fans in “The Land”. Your unwavering support and dedication is what led the Cleveland Cavaliers to becoming the 2016 NBA Champions. Thank you fans!!!
What advice would you give someone who dreams of becoming a Cavalier Girl? NEVER give up, work hard, and be confident. If being a Cavalier Girl is a goal of yours, keep working hard until that dream becomes reality.
What do you like most about being a part of the Cavalier Girls? So far it’s been performing for and interacting with the fans. Each day of training camp, we performed for the fans, and took pictures with them afterward. It gave me a small taste of what it would be like to actually be on the team.
Most memorable Cavalier Girl moment so far? My most memorable moment has been the last day of training camp, when the team was officially announced. It was a tearful, yet beautiful ending to our three days at Cedar Point, and all of the training camp candidates made the team!
Hardest part about being a Cavalier Girl? The hardest part so far has been keeping up with the fast pace. I also work other jobs in addition to being a CG, and travel from Columbus to Cleveland. So balancing it all has been the hardest part, but, I’m sure I will get used to it eventually!
