Luol Deng distributes more than 400 holiday gifts
December 3, 2012 – The Chicago Bulls and the Black McDonald’s® Operators Association (BMOA) partnered with the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) to host their 13th annual Kids Holiday Party on Sunday, December 2 at the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago (MSI). More than 400 children from the CHA’s family housing developments attended the event.
Luol Deng and Bulls representatives including Michael and Nancy Reinsdorf, Leslie Forman, Bill Wennington, Chuck Swirsky and Benny the Bull treated the children to lunch and tours of the museum exhibits including Science Storms, which features an interactive display that demonstrates the science behind shooting a basketball. Deng also personally purchased a gift for each of the more than 400 children and distributed them after the tours.
The Bulls also teamed up with the BMOA, Hinckley Springs and Edy's® Grand Ice Cream to provide lunch for everyone.
The Bulls coordinated the event as part of NBA Cares Season of Giving, a league-wide initiative that aims to brighten the holidays for thousands of children and families across the country.
