The Bulls Sunday closed the long road trip 4-3 with a dominating 102-84 victory over the Brooklyn Nets. The Bulls pulled away late in the third and into the fourth quarter to make the game a rout. Jimmy Butler again led the Bulls with 26 points to average 25.4 in the last five games. Pau Gasol added 25 points and 13 rebounds.
It was a stumbling start for the Bulls in their seventh straight road game amassing 15 days away. But with Butler dominating against All-Star Joe Johnson and Gasol operating comfortably in the post the Bulls went on a 10-0 run to take a 25-22 lead after one. The Nets inched back to trail 47-42 at halftime, but the Bulls extended their lead to 76-63 after three with a big third quarter from Gasol and Derrick Rose assisting Butler on the fast break.
1. Jimmy Butler continues to open eyes around the NBA coast to coast with another big game on a terrific road trip as he’s had at least 22 points in six of the seven games.
2. Another good rebounding and defensive effort by the Bulls with the Boston and Brooklyn wins. Nice to be back in Eastern Conference.
3. Strong November with an 11-6 start despite league most 12 of first 17 games on the road.
