Bulls host Thanksgiving-themed reading tour at Brown Elementary School

November 17, 2011—As part of the Read to Achieve program, the Chicago Bulls hosted a special Thanksgiving-themed reading tour at William H. Brown Elementary School on Thursday morning.

Bulls’ personalities Bob Love, Sidney Green, Benny the Bull and other Bulls front office staff read the book Thanksgiving at the Tappletons’ to a group of third and fourth grade students.

After the reading session, the students gathered to act out scenes from the book and participate in a coloring event with Benny the Bull.

Thursday’s visit to Brown Elementary School was the second stop of the Bulls reading tour events. Throughout the next few months, the Bulls will be visiting local schools to promote the importance of education and literacy.

The Bulls and Rush University Medical Center coordinated the event as part of the Bulls’ ongoing Read to Achieve program, which inspires literacy among Chicago’s youth by encouraging families and adults to read regularly with young children.
