2013-14 Marks Inaugural Season of the "Milwaukee Bucks Dancers"
After 23 seasons of bringing the “Energee!” to both NBA games and community events in Milwaukee, the Bucks dance team is embarking on a new era in which they will be known as the “Milwaukee Bucks Dancers.” The new name was announced at the conclusion of the squad’s Live Audition Finale show at the Marcus Center for the Performance Arts’ Peck Pavilion Thursday evening.
The contributions of previous dance teams remain a valued part of Bucks history, and they will always be appreciated for their contributions on and off the court. The legacy built by former Energee! dancers and staff will persist in the new era under second-year Dance Team Manager Tricia Crawford.
“Tricia and I are looking forward to continuing the dance team legacy here with the Bucks,” said Johnny Watson, the Bucks director of game and event presentation. “Energee! will always be an important part of our history, and the same core values will be instilled with our Milwaukee Bucks Dancers. It’s an exciting time for the Bucks game entertainment department, and it all starts tonight with our new dancers.”
The name change to the Milwaukee Bucks Dancers (acronym MBD) is part of a larger re-branding of the Bucks entertainment and fan experience this season. The dancers will take on an expanded role on game nights, collaborating with other performance groups and sponsor activations in addition to their traditional entertainment with dance routines.
The Milwaukee Bucks Dancers is a squad filled with energetic, motivated and successful young women who are dedicated to entertaining and serving Milwaukee and Wisconsin. In addition to their responsibilities at games, all the members are extremely active in the community while working or pursuing their education
