Bucks also acquire draft rights to Hugo Besson in trade with Pacers
MILWAUKEE (June 23, 2022) – The Milwaukee Bucks selected MarJon Beauchamp with the 24th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.
A 6-6, 199-pound guard-forward, Beauchamp spent the 2021-22 season with the NBA G League Ignite where he averaged 15.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals in 35.2 minutes per game. In his 21 games (20 starts) with G League Ignite, the Yakima, Washington native shot 53.8% from the field, scoring 20+ points six times and logging six double-doubles.
Prior to joining G League Ignite, the 21-year-old Beauchamp averaged 30.1 points, 10.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists in his lone collegiate season with Yakima Valley College in 2020-21.
The Bucks also acquired the draft rights to Hugo Besson (bessoan), the 58th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, from the Indiana Pacers in exchange for cash considerations.
A 6-4, 196-pound guard from France, Besson appeared in 25 games with the New Zealand Breakers of Australia’s NBL during the 2021-22 season and averaged 13.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 27.4 minutes per game. Prior to his time with the Breakers, the 21-year-old played four professional seasons in France, including most recently with Saint-Quentin in France’s Second Division in 2020-21 where he earned Best Young Player honors and was named to the league’s All-Star Five.
