The Milwaukee Bucks have entered into an agreement with forward Ersan Ilyasova (6-10, 235) for a multi-year contract, General Manager John Hammond announced today. The contract is subject to a clearance letter from his former Spanish League team, Regal FC Barcelona.

Selected by Milwaukee with the 36th overall pick (second round) of the 2005 NBA Draft, Ilyasova (pronounced air-san ee-lee-a-SO-va), has played the last two seasons overseas with FC Barcelona. In 31 games last season (2008-09), he averaged 10.5 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals while shooting 45.6 percent from three-point distance in 22.3 minutes per game. FC Barcelona won the Spanish ACB Championship for 2008-09. In Euroleague competition (22 games), Ilyasova produced 10.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game and helped his team to the Euroleague Final Four.

Ilyasova, 22, spent the 2005-06 season with the Tulsa 66ers of the D-League and averaged 12.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 46 games (19 starts). The following season he appeared in 66 games (14 starts) with the Bucks and averaged 6.1 points and 2.9 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per contest. Ilyasova is the youngest player to ever appear in a game for the Bucks, as he was 19 years, five months and 17 days old on November 1, 2006.

In 2007-08 he signed to play in Spain and averaged 7.4 points and 4.1 rebounds in 40 Spanish League games. In 22 Euroleague contests Ilyasova averaged 6.1 points and 4.7 rebounds.

Ilyasova began his professional career in Turkey in 2002 and has represented the Turkish National Team since 2003.
