NBA TV's Rick Kamla ran down his Top 10 NBA small forwards in terms of fantasy basketball production and Trail Blazers wing Nicolas Batum comes in at No. 6 in the rankings. Kamla notes that Batum's ability to fill up the stat sheet in five categories -- points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals -- while also being a proficient three-point shooter makes him an especially effective player on your fantasy roster.

It's probably worth noting that the five players ranked above Batum -- Josh Smith, Carmelo Anthony, Paul George, Kevin Durant and Lebron James -- four are all-stars and legitimate league MVP candidates . Batum is also one of just three small forwards on Kamla's list who play in the Western Conference (Durant and Kawhi Leonard being the other two), which brings up the question some (myself included) posed last season: Is Nicolas Batum the second-best small forward in the West? If he removes all doubt from that debate, maybe Batum punches a ticket for the 2014 All-Star Game in New Orleans.
