Vice President, Basketball Communications
Jim Taylor begins his 22nd overall season with the Trail Blazers having been recently promoted to Senior Vice President of Communications. Prior to that, Taylor served as the team's vice president of basketball communications, a position he held since 2013. In his current role, Taylor is the primary media liaison for the Trail Blazers, Rip City Management, Moda Center, Rose Quarter and Veterans Memorial Coliseum on all business and basketball-related matters. Taylor previously worked for the team as director of corporate communications and community relations from 1991-98, and website content manager from 2005-07. Between his tenures with the organization, Taylor served as the venue director for the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup before becoming vice president and general manager of the Portland Timbers soccer team, a position he held for five years. A native of Vancouver, Wash., Taylor graduated from Hudson’s Bay High School, Mt. Hood Community College and Oregon State University. Jim and his wife, Kippie, are the proud parents of two daughters, Aleida and Zoe, and reside in Vancouver, Wash.
