Feb. 28 vs. New Orleans. Two new career-highs in the month of February weren’t enough for Dragic, especially with his family in the stands watching. The Slovenian playmaker poured in yet another career-best – 40, this time – thanks to 14-of-21 shooting, 9-of-11 from the free throw line and 42 minutes of play.
Rest, rest and more rest.
Dragic flourished as a primary scoring option, but he also received the defensive attention that comes with the responsibility. That meant stitches (twice), sprained ankles (three times) and bruised ribs (last month of the season).
“I’m sad that we finished the season, but at the same time, I need a break,” he said. “My body, I was falling apart the last couple of games. I had a lot of ankle problems this season.”
“ I think his shooting has improved where he can take it all the way to the basket or he can do a step-back [jumper] or now he’s making threes. The combination of that is what makes him get to the next level.”
