The electrifying star is perhaps the most athletic point guard of all time. His high intensity helped him win two scoring titles (2015, '17) and lead the league in assists three times.
Six days after Westbrook was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics in 2008, the franchise moved to Oklahoma City. Westbrook spent 11 seasons with the organization and became the Thunder’s all-time leading scorer. He also played for the Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards.
Westbrook logged more triple-doubles than any other player in NBA history. He passed Oscar Robertson, whose records hadn’t been touched in over 40 years, to secure the record for most career triple-doubles (184) and most triple-doubles in a single season (42). Westbrook and Robertson are the only players in NBA history to average a triple-double for a season.
Westbrook produced 31.6 points, 10.7 rebounds and 10.4 assists per game during his 2016-17 MVP campaign. It would be his first of four seasons averaging a triple-double.
Nicknamed “Mr. Triple-Double”, Westbrook won the All-Star Game MVP in 2015 and 2016, becoming the only player in NBA history to win consecutive All-Star Game MVP awards outright.
Westbrook, alongside teammates Kevin Durant and James Harden, helped lead Oklahoma City to the 2012 NBA Finals. The Thunder fell short to the Miami Heat in five games, and the trio would become a duo shortly after with Harden being traded to the Houston Rockets. Still, the pairing between Westbrook and Durant is regarded as one of the best tandems in league history.
