MADRID (AP) — Forward David Lee has played only one game since joining the Boston Celtics and is already seeing some positive similarities with his former team, the defending champion Golden State Warriors.
The two-time All-Star says the Celtics have "a lot of depth" and "unbelievable chemistry," and will surprise a lot of people this season despite a young team and the absence of a superstar like Stephen Curry.
Lee says Brad Stevens has plenty in common with Warriors coach Steve Kerr, including "great enthusiasm toward the game."
The 32-year-old forward spoke in Madrid on Wednesday, a day before the team's final game of a preseason double-header, part of the NBA Global Games.
The Celtics, which finished under .500 last season, beat Italy's Olimpia Milano 124-91 in Milan on Tuesday.
