The 2014-15 NBA season is right around the corner, which means it's time to start preparing for your Yahoo! NBA Fantasy draft!

Use our Fantasy Draft Kit to find out which players are the best in each statistical category and outsmart your competition. Make sure to check back to NBA.com/fantasy throughout the month as we reveal our NBA.com Fantasy Big Board, positional rankings and feature articles.

FANTASY DRAFT KIT: STEALS

The steals category has been dominated by two players over the last three seasons and it appears it will remain that way.

1. Chris Paul

13-14: 2.5 SPG -- 12-13: 2.4 SPG
Chris Paul has led the league in steals six out of the last seven seasons and there's no reason to believe this trend won't continue. Since the difference between Paul and the person 30th in steals (Deron Williams) is only 1.0 steal per game, having CP3 won't guarantee you the category. But he certainly points you in the right direction.

2. Ricky Rubio

13-14: 2.3 SPG -- 12-13: 2.4 SPG
The only player who has been consistently close to Paul in the steals department over the last three seasons is Ricky Rubio. With the help of rookie Andrew Wiggins on the perimeter with him, Rubio should have a similarly disruptive year of swipes.

Outside of Paul and Rubio, there are few "elite" steals men in the league. Of players who played at least 10 games last season, 76 recorded between 1.9 and 1.0 steals per game. Thus, the rest of the list will be presented without commentary. Key to winning this category? Avoid guards who record fewer than 1.0 steals per game (looking at you, Arron Afflalo).
