Wiz Kids Audition FAQ
Do I need to pre-register online in order to audition?
Pre-registration is preferred, it will secure your spot in the audition in the event space fills up. Walk-ins are welcome.
Can I stay and watch my child audition?
Wiz Kids Auditions are closed to the public and parents will not be permitted to stay and watch. Parents must come in with your child to register and sign a waiver. At that point, you will be asked to leave your child with the Wizards staff and they will escort those auditioning to the audition area. Parents can begin arriving at 1130AM to pick up your child.
How old does my child have to be to audition?
We are looking for boys and girls ages 6-14.
Will my child need to have choreography ready to perform at the audition?
No, we will teach the audition candidates a short hip-hop routine similar to the style they will perform on court at a Wizards home game.
What should my child wear to the audition?
Please wear comfortable workout or dance attire. Tennis shoes or dance shoes with non-marking soles will be fine.
When will the team be selected?
Parents will receive a letter in the mail the week following the audition informing you whether or not your child has been selected as a member of the Wiz Kids. The letter will have instructions about our first parent meeting, practices, and other information.
When do the Wiz Kids perform?
The Wiz Kids perform at about 10 Wizards home games throughout the season. They may also perform at community events in the DMV area.
