GAME NOTES
Tonight’s contest is the first of two meetings between the Washington Wizards and Dallas Mavericks.
The two teams will meet again on March 7th in Dallas. The Wizards swept the season series from Dallas
last season, 2-0. Washington defeated Dallas, 110-98, in Dallas on November 26, 2007, and 102-84
on January 8th in Washington. Overall, the Wizards have taken three straight contests over the Mavericks.
Last game…Washington fell to the Philadelphia 76ers, 109-103, at Verizon Center. The Wizards saw
five players score in double-figures, with Antawn Jamison leading the way with 23 points and 10 rebounds.
Caron Butler scored 20 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had four assists. Mike James
added 16 points and six rebounds in his second start for the Wizards. Andray Blatche scored 13 points,
his third consecutive game in double-figure scoring.
The Wizards swept the season series from Dallas last season. The last time this occurred was the
1996-97 season when the Wizards won both meetings.
Caron Butler averaged 30.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in Washington’s two victories over Dallas last season.
Antawn Jamison averaged 25.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in the two Wizards wins over the Mavericks
