NOTES Tonight’s contest is the third of
four meetings between the Washington Wizards and Orlando Magic.
Orlando currently holds a 2-0 advantage in the season series. The
Magic won the first contest, 106-81, on November 8th in Orlando,
and won the second meeting, 105-90, on Thanksgiving night in Washington.
The two teams will meet again for the final time on March 13th in
Washington.
Last Game...The Wizards defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers, 80-77,
on January 4th in Washington. Antawn Jamison nailed a baseline jumper
with 10.5 seconds remaining to seal the victory for the Wizards...Jamison
finished with 26 points and 13 rebounds, which marks his 19th double-double
of the season...
Dominic McGuire posted his first career double-double with 10 points
and 10 rebounds...Caron Butler scored 19 points and grabbed seven
rebounds…Washington out-rebounded Cleveland, 52-35, while
holding
them to 39.4 percent shooting from the field...The W izards also
held the Cavaliers to their season-low of points in a quarter with
11 in the third period.
Last Game versus Orlando…The Wizards fell to the Orlando
Magic 105-90 at Verizon Center, on November 27th...Washington was
led by Caron Butler who scored 25 points and had six assists...Antawn
Jamison posted his seventh straight double-double with 17 points
and 12 rebounds...Darius Songaila added 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting
in 21:36 minutes of play off of the bench.
Antawn Jamison is averaging 21.4 points and 10.2 rebounds over
his last five games. In three of those five games, Jamison has posted
three double-doubles to raise his total to 19 double -doubles on
the season.
In Washington’s seven victories this season, they are holding
