WIZARDS ANNOUNCE 2011 TRAINING CAMP ROSTER

Team Signs Three; Roster Set at 14 to Open Camp Tonight

Washington, DC – The Washington Wizards announced their 2011-12 training camp roster today after signing Mardy Collins, Aaron Petway and Mike Wilks. The training camp roster stands at 14 as the team opens camp tonight at Verizon Center.

“The players, coaching staff and entire organization are excited and ready to tip off the 2011-12 season with the start of training camp tonight,” said Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld. “Everyone is prepared to come in and work hard over these next few weeks in preparation for the start of the regular season.”

Collins, a 6-6 guard, has appeared in 189 NBA games over four seasons with New York and the L.A. Clippers, averaging 3.9 points and 1.7 assists. He has also played overseas in Turkey and China.

Petway, a 6-10 center, has played in Latvia and the Ukraine during the past two seasons. He appeared in five games for the Wizards’ entry in the 2010 NBA Summer League.

Wilks, a 5-10 guard, has seen action in 233 NBA games with nine NBA teams over seven seasons, including a four-game stint with the Wizards in 2007-08. He holds career averages of 2.5 points and 1.2 assists per game.
