GAME NOTES

  • Tonight’s game is the first of two meetings between the Washington Wizards and Golden State. The two teams will meet again on March 27th at Oracle Arena in Oakland.
  • Last game...The Wizards fell to the Chicago Bulls, 105-77, on February 28th at Verizon Center...Andray Blatche scored 15 points and pulled down 11 rebounds...Nick Young scored 14 points...John Wall scored nine points and had 10 assists...Joakim Noah and Derrick Rose each had 21 points for the Bulls.
  • John Wall led all Eastern Conference rookies in scoring (16.5 ppg) and assists (7.9 apg) and was second in double-doubles with four during the month of February.
  • Wall is only the third rookie in NBA history to average at least 15 points, eight assists and four rebounds through February. Wall joins Oscar Robertson (60-61) and Damon Stoudamire (95-96) to accomplish this feat.
  • Wall is averaging 19.9 points, 9.1 assists and 4.9 rebounds in his last seven games.
  • Nick Young is averaging 21.3 points, while shooting .500 from three-point range (13-26) in his last six games.
  • Andray Blatche is averaging 16.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists in his last five games.
  • Nick Young currently ranks second in points per game this season among all players selected in the 2007 NBA Draft. With a career-high average of 17.7 points per game, Young is second to Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant who also leads the NBA in scoring.
  • Rashard Lewis averaged 18.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in two games versus the Golden State Warriors last season. For his career, Lewis holds career averages of 17.7 points and 6.1 rebounds versus the Warriors.
