Wizards and Comcast SportsNet Announce 2009-10 TV Broadcast Schedule

The Washington Wizards and Comcast SportsNet released their 2009-10 television broadcast schedule today. The schedule features all 82 regular season games plus three preseason games, including 66 on Comcast SportsNet, 14 on CSN+, one on The Comcast Network (TCN) and 15 national television appearances.

“We are thrilled to further our longstanding partnership with the Washington Wizards and broadcast their games and the most comprehensive Wizards news and analysis to fans throughout the region,” said Comcast SportsNet Senior Vice President and General Manager Rebecca Schulte. “As we enter the new season, Comcast SportsNet viewers will see an extensive lineup of high definition games, breaking news, and expert in-game and post-game analysis.”

Comcast SportsNet will broadcast 66 regular season games beginning with the opener at Dallas on Oct. 27, with 52 games broadcast in high definition. The network will also produce 14 games to air on CSN+ (a full channel listing is available at www.csnwashington.com) and one game that will air on TCN. Additionally, Comcast SportsNet will televise three preseason games: Oct. 9 vs. Dallas in high definition, Oct. 14 at Cleveland and Oct. 20 at Philadelphia.

“Once again, Wizards fans will have the opportunity to get the best local Wizards coverage on Comcast SportsNet,” said Wizards Executive Vice President Matt Williams. “We’re proud of our long-standing relationship with Comcast SportsNet and with the outstanding job that Steve Buckhantz, Phil Chenier and the entire Comcast SportsNet crew do every night during the NBA season.”

The Emmy Award-winning Steve Buckhantz returns for his 13th season as play-by-play commentator for local Wizards broadcasts, while former Bullets great Phil Chenier is back to provide his 25th season of color analysis. The Comcast SportsNet broadcast team will also feature Chris Miller, who will handle sideline reporting during home games. Following game broadcasts, Comcast SportsNet will air Wizards Postgame Live, hosted by Miller with former NBA scout Ron Thompson, delivering expert analysis and insight, postgame commentary and insider access to players, coaches, and other team personnel.

The Wizards are scheduled to appear on national television 15 times during the 2009-10 season, beginning with a matchup vs. Miami on Nov. 4 at 7:00 pm on ESPN. In total, the Wizards will appear on ESPN seven times (Nov. 4 vs. Miami, Nov. 18 vs. Cleveland, Nov. 27 at Miami, Dec. 18 at Golden State, March 7 at Boston and April 7 at Orlando), TNT one time (Dec. 10 vs. Boston) and NBATV eight times (Nov. 21 at San Antonio, Nov. 28 vs. Charlotte, Dec. 26 at Minnesota, Dec. 28 at Memphis, Jan. 18 vs. Portland, Feb. 22 vs. Chicago and Mar. 13 vs. Orlando).
