GAME NOTES
  • Tonight’s game is the first of two meetings between the Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers took the season series, 2-0 last season. The two teams will meet again on March 21st in Los Angeles.
  • Last contest...The Wizards fell to the Los Angeles Clippers, 92-78, at Verizon Center on January 24th...Antawn Jamison led the Wizards with 20 points and 10 assists...Brendan Haywood scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds...Mike James scored 11 points in 19:05 minutes of play off of the bench...Caron Butler scored 10 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had four assists.
  • Washington’s last victory over the Los Angeles Lakers at Verizon Center came on December 26, 2005. The Wizards won that contest, 94-91. Gilbert Arenas led all scorers with 34 points, he also had seven rebounds. Antawn Jamison scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Caron Butler had 16 points.
