Wizards Clinch Third Consecutive Playoff Berth
Tickets for first two home playoff games on sale now
April 10, 2007

By virtue of the Indiana Pacers’ loss to the Philadelphia 76ers Tuesday night, the Washington Wizards clinched a spot in the 2007 NBA Playoffs. After qualifying for the playoffs in each of the last two seasons, Washington has now advanced to the playoffs in three consecutive seasons for the first time since the franchise made five consecutive postseason appearances from 1983-88.

"We're proud to be back in the playoffs for the third consecutive season," said Wizards President Susan O'Malley. "This accomplishment is a credit to the great vision of Mr. Pollin and Ernie Grunfeld and their goal of building a perennial playoff contender in Washington.

"It's also a credit to Eddie Jordan, our players and coaching staff for their hard work, talent and dedication. As we’ve shown in each of the last two postseasons, Verizon Center is one of the premier home court advantages in the NBA, and we’re excited for our fans to once again make this the place to be at playoff time.”

Tickets for the first two Wizards home games in the first round of the 2007 NBA Playoffs are on sale now, and can be purchased at any Ticketmaster outlet, at the Verizon Center Box Office, by calling 202-397-SEAT, or online. Dates and times of home playoff games against a still to be determined opponent will be announced following the conclusion of the 2006-07 NBA regular season.
