Wizards Unveil Court Logo, Jersey Patch In Honor of Abe Pollin

The Washington Wizards announced today that the team will honor the legacy of Abe Pollin by prominently displaying a logo featuring his name, “Abe,” on both the court and a patch that will adorn their home and away jerseys for the remainder of the season.

“We’re proud to honor Mr. Pollin as a team by wearing the patch on our jerseys,” said Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld. “It’s also appropriate that his name will be featured on the court at Verizon Center, a building that stands as a testament to his vision, generosity and commitment to making his community a better place.”

The team will debut both the court logo and jersey patch tonight in front of a national television audience when they take on the Boston Celtics at 8:00 p.m. on TNT.
