“It is such an honor to receive this award,” said Hayes. “There are some great basketball players on this team and I’m happy to be a part of it.”
The 6-7 forward scored a career-high 23 points vs. the New York Knicks on April 14, and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds vs. Chicago on January 19. Hayes led the team in scoring six times, rebounding four times and started in 42 games. He tallied two double-doubles, 12 points and 14 rebounds vs. Chicago on January 19 and 14 points and 13 rebounds vs. Seattle on January 17.
