Wizards Fall to Warriors
Monday night proved to be a frustrating night for the Wizards as they fell,120-100, to the Golden State Warriors at Verizon Center. The Warriors came out on fire in the first quarter, scoring 41 points and shooting 71% from the field and the Wizards never could recover. As a team, the Warriors shot 65% (15/23) from beyond the arc for the game, and it was too much for the Wizards to overcome.
For the Wizards, Wall was his usual efficient self, scoring 20 points on 7/10 shooting and dishing out 14 assists. Nick Young had 25 points off the bench in his return to the lineup after missing time with a sore knee and JaVale McGee had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Wizards return to the floor on Wednesday night when they host the Los Angeles Lakers at Verizon Center at 7:00 p.m.

“We just got off to a slow start and couldn’t recover. They got off to a great start in the first quarter. They shot the ball well and had 41 points in the first and 65 at halftime. We dug ourselves into a big hole early and just couldn’t get out of it. Monta (Ellis) had a good night shooting the ball. They did a good job moving the ball around and getting good looks.”

“It felt good to play again but it was a tough loss tonight. We got off to a difficult start and couldn’t recover. They shot great from the floor and we couldn’t get into a rhythm offensively.”

“That’s about as disappointed as I’ve been and I will take full responsibility for this loss. It was a vibe that I got from my team that didn’t sit well with me before we even hit the court tonight. We didn’t look like we were ready to play, and that’s my job to have my team prepared to play. This shouldn’t happen again. We were in a good position to get back-to-back wins. We just didn’t come in with any effort to win the game. Once again this is inexcusable and it’s on me. I will clean that up. I apologize to everyone that had to watch it and come here tonight.”
On the team:
“We are a team, we win together and lose as team. Guys go through bad stretches. We have to play through it and keep fighting. What we cannot do and will not do is come out and play like this.”
