Kings Outlast Wizards
The Wizards scored a season-high 68 points in the first half of Wednesday night's game, but they could not hold on in the second half and fell 115-107 to the Sacramento Kings at Verizon Center.
A late fourth quarter Kings rally proved to be too much for the Wizards to overcome and they now head into the All-Star break with a frustrating home loss.
Jordan Crawford did score a game-high and season-high 32 points off the bench in the effort.
John Wall played one of his most complete games of the season, dropping in 21 points, dishing out 11 assists, and hauling down nine rebounds.
The Wizards will now have five days off before they return to the court due to All-Star Weekend. The team next plays on Tuesday February 28th in Milwaukee against the Bucks (8pm).

On the game:
“My job is to put my teammates in the best position offensively. We played well in the first half, but we couldn’t continue to do so in the second half. We made some costly turnovers, missed some open looks and the Kings took advantage and made some big shots down the stretch.”
On the second half of the season:
“We have to clear our heads and come back to finish the second half of the season strong.”

“We didn’t play defense and didn’t box out. It means we have to get better, both mentally and physically. When we get tired, I think that’s when we go back to the ‘old us’ and that’s what hurt us.”
On heading into the All-Star break:
“We just have to regroup. Try and enjoy these couple days and then regroup and get back to business.”

On the first half of the season:
“We knew that we wanted to go to the All-Star break on a good note. Coach talked about it, we talked about it. We shared the ball in the first half, but in the second half we just kept relapsing back to old habits. It’s disappointing to end the first half of the season that way.”
On the Kings:
“In the second half, they wanted the balls more than we did, whether it was loose balls or rebounds. They shared the basketball. We looked like a different team.”
On the Wizards:
“We have some bad habits as a team. We’re trying to break them. When you have bad habits, sometimes you go back to those habits. In the games that we’ve had success, we’ve shared the ball, we’ve played team defense and we’ve been a team. The games where we struggle are where we try to do it on our own.”
