Wizards Fall to Clippers in LA
After a lights out shooting performance on Tuesday night against the Blazers, the team came back down to earth and ran out of gas in the fourth quarter to fall 102-84 to the Clippers on Wednesday night in Los Angeles.
While the final score was lopsided, a majority of the game was within a few points as the team played right with the Clippers. The Wizards trailed by three at the half, but a fourth quarter Clippers run was too much for them in the end.
John Wall notched his fifth double-double of the season (18 points, 12 assists) in the loss. Wall is now averaging 11.5 apg over his last four games.
JaVale McGee was efficient again on the offensive end and dropped in 18 points to go along with his five rebounds.
Nick Young, returning to his hometown, had 14 points (13 in 2nd half), while Jordan Crawford added 12 points off the bench.
Next, the Wizards head to Utah and take on the Jazz on Friday night (9:00pm).

“We got a young team with young energy. We have to give effort and not turn the ball over.”
What they learned from tonight
“We just did a great job managing the game, running pick and rolls and getting everyone involved. It’s tough to guard them because they can play defense, run, and score. I think I did a good job contesting shots and making them make the tough ones. But they got a couple at the end there. I have to take shots if the defense is going to sag off me like that.”

“I had to try to get it going. It was just one of those nights. We played hard and fought but it was a back to back. But they made a push in the fourth quarter
On playing at home in Los Angeles:
"My teammates were encouraging me all day long, and I tried to get it going in the second half and just fell short.”
On losing the 4th quarter:
"They shot threes and hit threes, the pick and rolls were working and they hit open shots."

On fourth quarter :
"It was a four point game with 7:20 to go. We couldn’t make a shot and couldn’t get any second chance points. We got beat on the boards again as we did in the first game of our road trip. They got 14 second chance points and they were able to get up the court.”
On turning their season around:
"We have been playing better and competing but we are not going to make all of our shots all of the time. We struggled a little bit with our perimeter shooting at 39% but we are right there. I don’t look at this game as an 18 point loss, we just ran out of gas at the end.”
