GAME NOTES

  • Tonight’s game is the only meeting of the season between the Washington Wizards and Oklahoma City Thunder.
  • Last game versus Houston...The Wizards were defeated by the Houston Rockets, 114-106, on January 16th at Verizon Center...John Wall scored a career-high 38 points on 13-of-22 from the field, he also recorded eight assists, six rebounds and four steals...Jordan Crawford scored 17 points on 7-of-12 from the field in 29:24 minutes of play off of the bench...
  • With 38 points, eight assists, six rebounds and four steals, John Wall became the first Wizard to reach these numbers in the same game since Gilbert Arenas on April 5, 2006. Arenas had 38 points, eight assists, eight rebounds, and four steals versus Boston in that contest.
  • Nick Young averaged 21.5 points in two games versus the Thunder last season.
  • Trevor Booker averaged 17.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in two games versus the Thunder last season. Booker posted his first career double-double last season in Oklahoma City (1/28/11) with 21 points and 12 rebounds.
  • Key Matchups:
  • Chris Singleton vs. Kevin Durant - One of the main reasons the Wizards drafted Chris Singleton was to defend players like Kevin Durant, and tonight he will get his first taste of the NBA's leading scorer from a year ago. Singleton has shown that he can defend multiple positions on the floor through the first few weeks of the season, but tonight may be his toughest matchup yet and his defensive prowess will be put to the ultimate test.
  • John Wall vs. Russell Westbrook - Another great matchup between two of the better young point guards in the game as Wall and Westbrook will each play big roles for their respective teams. Wall is coming off a career high in points (38) on Monday and will be looking to replicate a similar performance tonight against Westbrook and his Thunder.
  • Tonight's game can be seen on Comcast SportsNet or heard on WJFK The Fan 106.7 at 7:00pm.
