GAME NOTES

  • Tonight’s game is the first of four games between the Washington Wizards and Philadelphia 76ers.
  • Last game versus Chicago...The Wizards fell to the Chicago Bulls, 78-64, on Wednesday in Chicago.....Jordan Crawford scored 14 points in 19:44 minutes of play off of the bench...John Wall had 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists...JaVale McGee scored 10 points, grabbed a season-high tying 14 rebounds and blocked five shots...Trevor Booker scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
  • JaVale McGee has blocked three or more shots in seven consecutive games for the first time in his career. McGee is the first player in the NBA this season to accomplish this feat. The last player to block at least three shots in seven consecutive games is Andrew Bogut. Bogut blocked three or more shots in eight straight games from February 28-March 17, 2010.
  • McGee leads the NBA in games with five blocks at three.
  • John Wall averaged 23.3 points and 11.3 assists in four games versus Philadelphia last season.
  • Nick Young averaged 18.3 points per game in four games versus Philadelphia last season.
  • The Wizards currently rank 1st in the NBA in blocks per game at 8.3 bpg.
  • Key Matchup: John Wall vs. Jrue Holiday - Tonight will feature two of the better young point guards in the game as John Wall and Jrue Holiday square off against one another. Both Wall and Holiday share many of the same traits, both are 6'4, both 21 years old, but their skill sets are a little different. In order to be most effective, Wall will need to get to the rim and setup his teammates, while Holiday will be looking to knock down shots from the perimeter.
  • Tonight's game can be seen on Comcast SportsNet or heard on WJFK The Fan 106.7 at 7:00pm.
