GAME NOTES

  • Tonight’s game is the first of three meetings between the Washington Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers. The two teams split last season’s series at 2-2.
  • Last game versus Orlando...The Wizards were defeated by the Orlando Magic, 102-95, on February 29th at Verizon Center...John Wall led all scorers with 33 points...Jordan Crawford scored 18 points in his third start of the season...Trevor Booker scored seven points and grabbed 13 rebounds...Ryan Anderson led the Magic with 23 points and 15 rebounds.
  • John Wall averaged 19.2 points, 8.6 assists and 4.6 rebounds in 14 games during the month of February.
  • Jordan Crawford is averaging 20.4 points, while shooting .515 from the field in his last seven games.
  • Andray Blatche averaged 22.3 points and 12.5 rebounds in four games versus the Cavaliers last season. Blatche set a new franchise record with 16 offensive rebounds versus Cleveland last season (4/1/11). The previous record was 12 held by Wes Unseld (1/20/74) and Terry Davis (3/8/98). The 16 offensive rebounds by Blatche also marked a 2010-11 NBA season-high. The last NBA player to record at least 16 offensive rebounds in a game was Jayson Williams of the New Jersey Nets. Williams grabbed 17 offensive rebounds for the Nets on October 31, 1997.
  • Blatche is four points shy of 4,000 career points.
  • Key Matchup: Trevor Booker vs. Antawn Jamison - Trevor Booker continues to impress as his role evolves in the 2011-12 season. He's tallied double-digit rebound performances in the Wizards last two games and has started to see time playing the center position. Tonight, he will likely start playing the power forward spot and match-up with a familiar face in Antawn Jamison. Jamison spent five and a half seasons here in Washington and returns to Verizon Center averaging 17.3 ppg and 6.6 rpg in 2011-12. Booker will look to use his strength inside to overpower Jamison and give the Wizards the inside presence they need.
  • Tonight's game can be seen on Comcast SportsNet or heard on WJFK The Fan 106.7 at 7:00pm.
