GAME NOTES

  • Tonight’s game is the first of four meetings between the Washington Wizards and Charlotte Bobcats. The two teams will meet on January 28th and April 9th in Charlotte and April 23rd in Washington. Washington and Charlotte split last season’s series at two games apiece.
  • Last game versus Philadelphia...The Wizards lost to the Philadelphia 76ers, 103-83, on January 23rd at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia…Jordan Crawford led the Wizards with 17 points on 24:04 minutes of play off of the bench...Andray Blatche scored 13 points...John Wall added 13 points, five assists and four rebounds...Rashard Lewis had 11 points.
  • With 50 blocks through the first 17 games of the season, JaVale McGee is the first player since Dwight Howard (66 blocks) and Marcus Camby (51 blocks) in 2008 to have at least 50 blocks in his first 17 games.
  • McGee is the first Washington player since Manute Bol (64 blocks) in 1987 to have at least 50 blocks in his first 17 games.
  • John Wall is currently the only player in the NBA that is averaging at least 16.0 points, 7.0 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game this season.
  • Jordan Crawford is averaging 15.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in his last six games.
  • Andray Blatche averaged 19.0 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game in four games versus the Bobcats last season.
  • John Wall averaged 15.7 points, 9.0 assists, 3.7 rebounds in three games versus Charlotte last season.
  • Key Matchup: Nick Young vs. Gerald Henderson - One of the keys to tonight's game will be the scoring ability of the two shooting guards, Nick Young and Gerald Henderson. These are the two go-to scorers for each team and their ability to put points on the board could be the determining factor in the outcome of tonight's game. While Young is more of a perimeter shooter, Henderson thrives more in the mid-range game and getting to the rim. Their contrasting styles will be on display when the two teams take the court tonight at Verizon Center.
  • Tonight's game can be seen on Comcast SportsNet or heard on WJFK The Fan 106.7 at 7:00pm.
